Kruft's USC appearance, sponsored b y the Depatment of Art, is one stop in a U.S. lecture tour. The prominent German a-t historian has published and lec tured extensively on the Italian and Spanish Renaissance. The elaborately designed arch, the topic of Kruft's lecture, was constructed between the years 1444 and 1486 at the orders of Alfonso of Aragon. The lecture will be in English. He tries book learning, samples the pleasures of the flesh, the furies of war, foments a revolution and even contemplates the supreme act of immortal fame but finally stetles, like most, for marriage and family life after all else ends in disillusion. "Pippin" has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, whose first stage effort was the miraculously successful musical, "Godspell." His latest musical, "The Magic Show," opened recently on Broadway and is one of the current season's biggest hits. The book for "Pippin" was written by Roger 0. Hirson. Tickets are on sale at Coliseum ticket outlets and are priced at $7.50 and $6.50.
