Hopefully, the achievements will be plentiful. Athletic Director Helen Marie Timmermans said, "We hope we have winning seasons in all women's sports. A lot of good athletes are back. of out four women's sports, three teams were state champions, two went to the regionals and the softball team went to the National Cham pionship." The swim team, under the direction of Coach Alan Gentry, has been in existence since 1972. The team's membership is open to all student, although most mem bers have previous experience in Ea frc Foi ...soft. The teams practices is twice a day, 7 to 8 a.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. In the morning practices the team runs and also works with weights, hoping to improve en durance and overall conditioning. Gymnastics starts its seventh season in February, but the training program already started. The team has had five winning seaspns, and the coach feels last year\ was the best with an 8-4 record. The team had more losses than some previous seasons, but they travelled much more by winning the state championship, the ad vancing to seventh place in the Regionals, by a deficit of nine tenths of a point.
