Bowlers meet Students interested in joining the USC bowling club should attend the club's first meeting on Sept. 9, 4:15 p.m. at the Star Lanes Bowling Alley on Assembly Street. USC bowling club members bowl weekly at the alleys, with the five best men and women and women forming two teams which compete intercollegiately. Basketball captains Juniors Alexander English and Mike Dunleavy, both two-year starters, have been named co captains for the 1974-75 Carolina basketball team, Coach Frank McGuire announced Saturday. English, from Dreher High School, has started every game for the past two seasons. Last year he averaged 18.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He needs only 85 points to join the 1,000-point club. Gambrel honored Former Carolina centerfielder John Gambrell, currently playing for the Spartanburg Phillies of the Western Carolina League, has been named to the 1974 Academic All-American Baseball Team for the University Division. Gambrell, who hit .401 during the regular Carolina season and finished with a .355 mark, Gambrell hit .301 his frshman year and followed with .321 and .326 averages.
