Sansbury received his bachelor and law degrees from USC, and has been a member of the board of the University's Educational Foundation since its inception in 1958 and also served as president of the USC Alumni Association in 1955-56. A former state representative from Darlington County, Sansbury has held the office of president of the Darlington County Bar Association, the Darlington Kiwanis Club and the State Municipal Attorneys Association.
