Hollings S.C. Democrat BY TOMMY FOWLEI "They're busy, it's interesting to see the students so involved," was the reaction of Sen. Ernest F. Hollings, D-S.C., as he toured the USC campus Wednesday in an effort to spend time with students. Hollings, who will be running for re-election this year, spent the afternoon touring the Russell House and answering questions from various people. After viewing production facilities of the Gamecock and WUSC AM, Hollings commented on - assorted national and local issues. Hollings said "The energy crisis is real, but the facts are ob scured." He attributed this ob scurity to inability to get the "truth" from the big oil com panies. "We need a national rationing system but the administration doesn't have the guts to make a decision at all," Hollings said, "These half-way measures have put everyone to hoarding." Hollings explained he thought the fuel pinch was real because there is not much gasoline resources left but also a lot has been held back. He said a suggestion to increase construction of refineries was denied by President Nixon before the gasoline crisis became so ex tensive.
