Kierce declined the nomination. One station member said it was Kierce 's way of getting back at the station. As Lafferty said, "There was no access to professional engineering, no technical experience" before he was asked to undertake the task of revamping WUSC. "Chuck believed in the station," he said. Reames cannot. In any event the station is now on the air after one of the most trying summers in their history.
