New Law Exem lifV Expansion of th University o South Carolina's physical facilities is especially noticable this fall for students In the College of Business Administration and the School of Law, both of which are occupying new and spacious buildings. On the corner of Pickens and Green Streets, construction crews are rapidly shaping the Williams-Brice College of Nursing, expected to be completed ir 1974. A modern design with six stories and a separate auditorium, the building will be headquarters for more than 550 students enrolled in all nursing programs from associate to graduate degree. The 18 classrooms, four behavioral labs, seminar rooms, and nursing labs represent a vast improvement over crowded and outdated facilities in McCutcheon House, the Horseshoe home of the nursing school for more than 20 years. The nine-story business administration building, a contemporary blend on concrete and glass, with the adjoining parking lot occupies a one-block area bounded by College, Henderson, Pendleton, ancd Barnwell Streets. More than 3,200 students and a fcaulty of 101 are utilizing the classroom, office, study, and research space provided in the new building, completed last spring. Studio and classrooms for the nationally-recognized and innovative MBA-ETV program are housed in the building. With the completion of the Law Center this summer, the School of Law Is now occupying facilities nine times the size of Petigru College, .law school headquarters for 20 years. The Center, a series of three buildings, encompasses a library, one-story auditorium which opened for classes last fall, and a 'three-story classroom structure. A practice court area is equipped with television broadcast/playback capabilities, a spectator area, judge's office, and jury room. Instruction is conducted in 19 classrooms, three seminar and two conference rooms. More than 300 closed carrels and two typing rooms are available for studyand research. In the Center is the law library, expanded now with holdings to reach 100,000 titles by the end of the year. Sufficient seating for almost three-fourths of the study body of 900 and shelving for more than 250,000 volumes is found in the five-story library building.
