Expansion of th University o
South Carolina's physical facilities
is especially noticable this fall for
students In the College of Business
Administration and the School of
Law, both of which are occupying
new and spacious buildings.
On the corner of Pickens and
Green Streets, construction crews
are rapidly shaping the
Williams-Brice College of Nursing,
expected to be completed ir 1974.
A modern design with six stories
and a separate auditorium, the
building will be headquarters for
more than 550 students enrolled in
all nursing programs from associate
to graduate degree.
The 18 classrooms, four
behavioral labs, seminar rooms,
and nursing labs represent a vast
improvement over crowded and
outdated facilities in McCutcheon
House, the Horseshoe home of the
nursing school for more than 20
years.
The nine-story business
administration building, a
contemporary blend on concrete
and glass, with the adjoining
parking lot occupies a one-block
area bounded by College,
Henderson, Pendleton, ancd
Barnwell Streets.
More than 3,200 students and a
fcaulty of 101 are utilizing the
classroom, office, study, and
research space provided in the new
building, completed last spring.
