"While examining some older city planning maps, we found a plan called the Valley Freeway plan, which involved making a four-lane freeway out of Green Street," Smith said. "We got curious and called the Highway De partment and found that although the plan as a whole has been tech nically cancelled, the Highway Department is going ahead and making the same recommen P, Dr. John Basil, whose specialty is Russian history, with a group of 15 high school teachers and college instructors, took an intensive look at contemporary Russian life and institutions in Moscow, Kiev, Leni ngrad and Yalta. "This wealth of art represents centuries of culture which has con tinually strengthened the Russian people.
