Postal oddities featured The Columbia, S. C., Post Office will open its "Pos tique" Postal Store and Philatelic Center on December 8, 1972, and make available to collectors a spe cially postmarked and cacheted envelope. The Postique will sell philatelic and other items. These will be displayed in special glass top display counters in a canopied area of the post office lozby. The cacheted envelope will be cancelled with the special Postique cancella tion which has the work "Postique" in stylized script in the killer bars. The cachet in green, blue and gold is a vignette featuring an out line drawing of the State of South Carolina, the South Carolina state flag, the ultra modern Columbia Post Office, and the Postique ser vice mark. The stamp used on the cachet will be the new Stamp Collecting stamp, com memorating 125 years of U. S. postage stamps. The first U. S. postage stamp, the 1847 Ben Franklin 5- cent, is reproduced on this stamp that salutes stamp collecting and collectors. Requests for cacheted envelopes should be sent to: Postique, Postmaster, United States Post Office, Columbia, S. C. 29201. The cacheted evnelopes, stamped and cancelled December 8, 1972, are 35 cents each or three for $1.00. A number 10 self-addressed stamped envelope should be included for return of the cacheted envelopes.
