Student Government has abolished the priority system and claims that no one but handicapped students may receive priority cards. USC athletes and the legislative pages have traditionally taken advantage of the priority system en masse and it is not known whether administrative officials will make an eleventh hour decision to allow athletes and pages to register early. Ironically, USC's first black vice president Tim McConnell may be the man barring the schoolhouse door, if administrators try to renege on their agreement. "As far as I'm concerned if there are no priorities for regular students then the athletes S i.ldn't have them either." McConnell said. Registrar Luke Gunter agrees. "We are trying to hold the line and we should treat all the same. We should keep an orderly flow. Ours is a priority system. "You register according to the number of hours you have and if you have 50 you should register at your time," Gunter said. However, the final decision on priorities for athletes will be made in the coming week by the Registration Committee. The committee, composed of faculty, administration and students, has heard a strong recommendation for not giving athletic priorities. Gunter said he did not know how the com mittee would rule.
