Zipperly: leading Biddie rusher Coach Jackie Power's Biddies will be seeking their fourth win of the year. The Bullpups sport a 2-0-1 record with wins over Clemson and Florida. Auburn _played the Bullpups to a 14-14 tie in Georgia's other contest. Georgia features a fierce defense and powerful running game. Spearheading the strong Bullpup running attack is tailback Horace King who has rushed for 537 yards in three games. In the game against Florida, King ran for 291 yards and four touchdowns. The Biddies will try to return to their winning ways. Georgia Tech's defense held the Biddie's rushing attack, which had previously guided the team to its first three victories, to just 106 yards. Tom Zipperly, the team's leading rusher was stopped with only 46 yards in 15 carries. Fullback Billy Cregar gained only 40 yards in 16 attempts. While the Tech defense con centrated on halting the- Biddie Resident credits th There they go again. Yes, the outside agitators have returned along with their obnoxious and downright untrue remarks. Again the gifted Gamecock Soothsayer was threatened with his very existence. This time he was forced into exile behind some well thumbed copies of HARBRACE'S COLLEGE HANDBOOKS on the Gamecock sports desk. The poor prognosticator has to put up with these fickle hatemongers. If he picks a USC opponent, he is marked as a traitor and likened to Benedict Arnold. If he pidks USC and they lose, he is tabbed as a happy-go-lucky op timist. Maybe the solution is for USC to give up football and take up, say, ping-pong. Tommy Middlebrooks had an outstanding game at flanker as he pulled in 10 passes for an even 200 yards. The passing exploits of the Biddies Were stifled by numerous turnovers. That's combined not apiece, which is not exactly good when you consider what they were doing before. Oklahoma has been losing points to Nebraska, in the weekly polls, so look for a run up. Oklahoma 52, Kansas 15. Last week Maryland rolled up 414 total vards and 27 points. Too bad Penn State had to spoil things by running up 561 yards and 63 points. The Terps, nevertheless, Sailing team finishes 3rd in regetta The Carolina sailing team finished third in a four team regatta held at the James Island Yacht Club in Charleston, Saturday. The University of Tennessee won the regatta and the College of Charleston ended in second place. USC was third followed by the Citadel. Ann Boyd and Steve Fant were the skippers for Carolina. The USC team won four of the eight races but lost t wo points in a ptotest. The protest occurred in the third race and cost the Gamec'ock sailers a chance to win the regatta. Cregar also is over the :300 mark with 335 yards and a 4.7 average.
