Lambda C is b wins behiir BY MATT COVINGTON Sports Writer The running of Ed Pinion paced Lambda Chi Alpha to a 19-0 rout of Zeta Beta Tau in In tramural action. - Pinion broke loose for a 78 yard scoring jaunt on the second play of the game behind some excellent down field blockinq. Midway through the second quarter, Lambda Chi quarterback Ron Ratteree lofted a 63 yard touchdown pass to Alan Roberts, who broke through two ZBT defenders to s score. After two sLiccessive pass completions, Ronnie Andrews picked off a ZBT aerial to thwart any scoring attempts. After a scoreless third quarter, Pinion swept the right end behind the blocking of Rick Lebel, Dave Ansley and Bryon Hack, scoring from three yards out. Ratteree then fired a pass to Joey Powell for the conversion. For Lambda Chi, it was their second win in as many starts, as they blanked Phi Kappa Psi in their opener. In addition, the Lambda Chi defense is unscored upon in both games, while the offense has rolled up 43 total points. In a other action, Kappa Alpha and PI Kappa fought to a 20-20 tie and previously undefeated LaBorde ran into a strong, determined Woodrow team and was beaten 12-0. The LaBorde men are the defen ding resident hall champions. Alpha Tau Omega beat Sigma Chi 12-2 for their third win of the season. Sigma Chi was previously undefeated before tangling with ATO. Sigma Chi's record is now 2-1. Preston finally put some points on the board and beat Bates team two 25-9. Preston had not won a game and had not scored any points prior to Aonday night's game. The married students kept up their winning ways by defeating Douglas 14-6. After the second game of the season the married students proved themselves as contenders for the crown by beating Town Men 6-0. There will be a wrestling meeting held tonight at 7 p.m. in room 317 of the Russell House. Anyone interested in joining the club and all members are urged to attend. The meeting will concern the club's coaching situation and practice schedule for the coming season. Roche was hampered early in the year by a hurt ankle. "It was a little discouraging.," Roche admitted. "Everybody wanted to see what I could do and I couldn't even run. "But luckily Coach Car nesecca gave me the chance. He's done a real good job, he's a good coach." Roche is also happy to be playing in New York, his home town. "The home games are really home games," Roche said. "The first game I had about 20 close friends there, people I'd known all my life, and that helped.
