Mortar B taps 27 r HY C'lII,V MANNING S Itaff Writer Twenty-seven rising senior women were tapped for mem bership in the USC chapter of Mortar Hoard last night. The 27 were selected by the outgoing chapter from about 250 rising seniors on the basis of scholarship, leadership and ser vice. The group is the largest ever to be tapped into the USC Alpha Order chapter, and the largest ever selected in the Southeastern section of the national women's honor society. Anne Clamp, president of the 1970-71 chapter, said that the new group was elected on the basis of their 'scholarship, leadership and service not only to the university, but to the surrounding community and nation in which we live. Mortar Hoard is not only an honor, it is a responsibility," she said. A :1 GPR is necessary to be considered for membership. In the "Stunt Night" en tertainment which preceded the tapping, Zeta Tau Alpha won first place for a skit called "Pilldom's Progress."
