Union Theat Openin By ROB BIGALKE Staff Writer (Ed. note: This Is the sixth is a series of articles on University Union Committees.) The newly opened Russell House Theater was supposed to be ready in mnid4eptember. It wasn't. It was then supposed to be ready at the end of October, but the projectors hadn't come in and the Currell College Assembly Room remained in use. The problems were described as "red tape tangle-ups." When "The Ritual" played at the grand opening of the theater, it was shown on "barely adeiuate projectors." Films Committee members were very proud when they an nounced that the projectors, which were ordered last July, had arrived two weeks ago. "We are in the room now," Programming Director John Tilley said. "iEverything should be correct." Looking on the trials of the fall program as "water under the bridge," the Films Committee looks forward to the program of films being lined up for next semester. "Well have the best program to date next spring," said Tilley. Among the films already scheduled are "Threepenney Opera," "Faces," "Jules et Jim," "Loneliness of the Long-Distance Runner," "Out of It," "Oh, What a Lovely War," "Monterrey Pop," "Ulysses," "Candy" ("It won't be cut," commented committee Secretary Fredrica Green), "Downhill Racer," the second of Robert Redford's big three films, "Good-Bye, Columbus," and "The big one of the year," according to Miss Green; "2001: A Space Odyssey." The Films Committee plans to continue the admission charge for week-end features, but the charge for Sunday showings will be eliminated. However, the Friday and Saturday films will be "in SUPE * Johnny Wi Th Friday, -6" plan the 'Monday-Tuesday popul flicks and Thursday fine filr 9 routine altogether.
