We had seen the times of Georgia against Florida and we knew,we were significantly better. We went down there after the North Carolina loss and swam a little worse than we had in the first meet," Combes s.Qid. USC dropped the first meet to North Carolina 58-53, even though swimmers like Trond . Williams recorded impressive times in the free style. "We just hope they can get back in shape. With swimming you can't go out and run or go to the local basketball court, we just hope they can find places to swim," Combes said. The Carolina swimmers have only three South Carolina residents with most of the swimmers coming from Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey. Washington and Florida. "South Carolina has very. few good swimmers because of no-high school program, there are seven good prospects this year in South Carolina though," Combes said.
