The television cameras were churning. Then the coach started talking about bowl bids as the Gamecocks listened patiently. He closed his remarks by announcing that Carolina will be the host team in the Dec. 30 Peach Bowl in Atlanta. Ga. Bedlam broke loose, players hugging players, coaches hugging coaches. coaches hugging players. The reporters present beamed. The television cameras whirled.
