IS Club Orients Students By MARY TRUESDELL Staff Writer You're from where? ?-a que tion often repeated to the mer bers of the International Stude Club. The club is designed to acquai international students to camp1 life and orient them to America customs. Both foreign and exchange st dents from China, India, Thailan Latin America, Arab countrie and Europe belong to the club. The Columbia Committee f International Students aids t1 club through a host family pr gram and other committees. Katherine Siu, one internation student, has praise for the ho family program and its dinne in American homes that make h "feel more a part of things." Chang Tseu praised the oppo tunity for independent study Carolina, "a very important di ference." I Harold Brunton, vice president for business affairs, said the land scaping will be the fourth in a five-step series of improvements, which began in the summer of 1965. The improvements are: -The addition to the west end of Russell House, completed in 1966. -The patio section in the rear of the Russell House. -The Gamecock Room to be finished soon in the renovated Confederate Room. The area that is now the Gamecock Room will I become the Golden Spur Night Club. -The landscaping in the front of the Russell House. This proj ect was delayed until the fall I planting season. S Young By JOE USRY Staff Writer "The American system needs to be changed from top to bottom," claimed Danny Rosenshine, field secretary for the Young Socialist Alliance, in a speech here spon sored by AWARE, the Southern S t u d e n t Organizing Committee and SDS. The speech, entitled "Student Revolt and Student Revolution Around the World," also charged that the three major presidential candidates are out of touch with the campus situation. He added, "Students are saying that adults haven't done much with society. Adults want continuity and stu dents want change." Rosenshine spoke of the rising amount of GI anti-war sentiment. He told the audience that 50 GI' marched in a demonstration in Atlanta last week, 200 GI's marched in Chicago, 500 GI's marched in San Francisco demon strating their opposition to the Continues Golden Spur or giving more space to the Craft Shop. "The discouraging thing about the three or four year project,' Brunton said, "is the horrible feel ing that as soon as we're finished we'll need to start all over again.' Brunton stated that one advan tage of the length of the project was the opportunity to modify the program while it was in progres.
