Public Health Service has granted $29,374 to the USC School of Nursing for a special one-year study to determine ways in which nurses can better pre pare patients for colonic x-ray ex aminations. The project will be directed by Mrs. Ann P. Hempy of the School. Research will be conducted at Columbia Hospital. Each year, hospital personnel perform about two million diag nostic examinations for such dis orders of the colon as cancer, in flammation and ulceration.
