The ball rolled out of the end zone for a safety, and the Gamecocks had a 2-0 load and some momentum. The first came shortly after Carolina's safety, on a perfect pass to sp)lit, end Van Heusen who latched onto the ball at the Gamnecock 30 and outran Stan Juk . to the goal to comlfplete a 67-yard F play. Coach Paul Dietzel's squad, which will be playing without the services of two starting backs, will take on a team which As sociate Coach Lou Holtz says has "the finest pass offense I've ever seen in college football." The Gamecocks go into the game without quarterback Mike Fair and fullback Cooter Williams, both of whom were injured in the Tennessee game two weeks ago. Alternate fullback Jim Mulvi hill suffered a bruised knee in last week's game with Maryland and will see limited action. Tail back Wally Medlin has been shifted to fullback and will start at that spot against the Seminoles.
