No longer is It safe for a person to be endowed with one Christian name. The babe that is given only the undecorative title of Susie Jones is doomed to be an outcast on the sinkable social waters of life. The recent political campaign emphasized the current onset of initials. L.B.J. and H.H.H. won i the campaign against B.M.G. and W.E.M. with the able help of Lady B. and Mrs. H.H.H. An uninformed and imaginative 1 reader might supply the initialed ones with names of their own. Looney Bird Johnson and Bad Man Goldwater may have lost many votes this way. Without appropriate initials how can one wear an initialed London Fog raincoat? Some peo ple, however, because of an innate c shyness, are forced to wear plain i unadorned raincoats and sweaters. I A Sandra Imogene Norri3 might t give someone the wrong idea if she appeared one dark night wear ing an initialed sweater. Some Parents are so pleased vith their newly arrived off pring that they try to fit them vith imaginative names of com >ination of initials. Elsie Emma !ch may have been the fifth of a >roud family all possessing the ame initials. At least they veren't branded. Many people wishing to enhance heir rather ordinary titles will ign their names with just their nitials and last name or perhaps vith their given name, initial and urname. Many who don't want ,o bother with signing either way ust scrawl an X, which serves ust as well. People usually fall into three lasses where middle names and nitials are concerned. One group iositively hates their middle name mnd prefers to ignore its ex stence. Group number two likes the idea of a middle initial, but would rather die than have their middle name known to the discerning world. Among this group are the lad and lasses known as Kitty B., Malcolm X., and Lou C. and Billy B. They are very deceptive. Last, but not least, the third group is proud 6f their middle name, or simply realize that they are stuck with it and decide to make the best of the affair. They are very wise. Luckily for the monogram peo ple, as long as there are people there will be middle initials wait ing to be exposed and tatooed on wearing apparel.
