In the Relays, Coach Baskin states, "I juggle my boys a great deal in these events, according to their performances and the opponent we are facing at the time. My choices in the relays will vary somewhat from meet to meet." Between the events of the var sity meet, the freshmen of Caro lina and Duke will compete. Among the promising freshmen who have turned in good perform anices so far this season are Tom Caughman, Ronnie Collins, Ed Cribb, Carl Hendricks, Bob Mc Ninch, and Bill Nies. rn the dual meet with Virginia and N. C. State, the Birds will face two teams with vastly different records last year. The Cavaliers posted a fine 6-1 record in meets last year, while N. C. State man ged to win only two of seven. The Gamecocks fit in between with their 3-3 record of last season. The meet with Duke Wednesday afternoon has the Ganecocks fac ing one of the stronger teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Despite the fact that they lost by graduation the ACC titlehold ers in the 880, mile and two mile, the Blue Devils have shown that they possess the individual talent amnd depth to threaten any team in the Conference. Coach Baskin stated that field events would start at 2:00 and the running comPetition opening up at 2:30, an"d urged the students to come out and support their track team.
