Native Of Speaks Toh Elas a. Padding af The Hagn., Th Netherlands, was the speaker Wednesde evening at a meeting of the Graduate History Club at the University. Padding, a native and resident of The Netherlands, is chief of the film distribution section of the United States Information Agency at The Hague. Just beginning a tour of the United States sponsored by USIA, Padding is in this country to see industries, farms, people at work and in their homes, schools and other aspects of American life. From his observations he will be able to give his fellow countrymen a first-hand interpretation of life In the United States. Gertrude ,rem blay-Baker, faculty advisor for Delta Omicron at the Universty, is among those whose perform' ances are to be heard. Delta Omicron is an Interna tional professional music fra ternity, whose purpose Is to fur ther the music education of young women, according to Addle Louise Wise, president of Delta Mu Chapter. Phi Mu Alpha is the men's music fraternity on campus. The speak era are Dutch nationals who have visited in this country, and who are then invited to speak publicly, without restriction as t6 views ex pressed. USIA in The Hague also pro vides cultural exhibits and cultural and scientific films In The Nether lands. All American medical films now available there are on loan to a university. USIA also provides films without cost for television use, and a free library service, among other services. Self-Selected Tour Padding arrived in the United States on Sept. 23. After a two w e e k indoctrination at USIA headquarters in Washington, D. C., he began his self-selected tour of the United States. Columbia is the second city he has visited; he stopped earlier at Durham, N. C. Also on his itinerary are the missile launching site at Cape Canaveral, Fla., and stops in the states of Texas, California, Kan sas, Illinois, Michigan, Massachu setts and New York. He will depart from New York City on Dec. 21 for the return jour ney to The Netherlands. S. representative to an International Bible quiz held in Israel last sum mer, will speak, to several religious organisations at the Uniersity October 27-28. Mrs. Davis of Buford, Georgia, was chosen American Bible Cham pion on the television quiz show "$64,000 Challenge." She partici pated in the quiz at the invitation of the government of Israel. She will speak at a luncheon meeting of YM-YWCA at Russell House Qetober 27 at 1 p.i&. She will be interviewed by Mrs. Alice Wyman of the University's Exten sion Division of "Let's Find Out," WIS-TV at 8:45 Tuesday evening. At 1 p.m. Tuesday she will speak to the Baptist Student Union. Garnet And Black Picture Deadline Is Extended The deadline for the taking of class pictures for "The Garnet and Black" has been extended two days, Jimmy Kanellos, business manager, has said. In announcing the extension, Kanellos said that next Monday and Tuesday will definitely be the last two days for the taking of the class pictures. Appointments may be made in room 102 of Russell House, the same room in which the pictures are made. Pictures are made from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the exception of 1 to 2 p.m. each day. Bowen, direc tor of activities of the Alumni Association. A committee has been formed to work with the students and has met. A tentative program has been worked out by the committee. Pro ceedings start on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. with the judging of dis plays. The judges will be Mrs. Caroline McKissick Belser, Mr. Judson Ready, and Mr. William H. Gibbes. At 6:80 in the evening a Pep Rally will be held. On Saturday registration will begin at 9 a.m., along with a cof fee hour, and will be held with Dr. and Mrs. Robert L.
