Preparations have been completed in most instances. .Maxcy Brotherhood again furnished an effigy of the Gamecock which tonight will reign over an exhausted Tiger at the Pep Rally and parade. And this year the Bird will be seated in a magnificent chariot, also supplied by the Brotherhood. The traditional stuffed Tiger has been readliedl for the pyre by McBryde Brotherhood and the torch will be applied tonight at ceremon'ies on the State House grounds. This year desecrators managed to leave another trail, this time in red and black paints, on the edge of campus while night vigils protected the Horseshoe and Green Street areas. Bleachers in Carolina Stadium have been completed and the stage is all set for tomorrow when new fashions will blossom in full. And with the exception of buying the Lady a white Chrysanthemum with Garnet and Black streamers, most individuals are set for the 2 p.m. kickoff to open battle with the Tigers. Already, little Steven Berry, one-year-old son of Junior Varsity Coach and Mrs. Jess Berry appears to have his Tigers under control, that is, with the aid of a healthy stick. So tonight and tomorrow morning the toll of the chapel bell will be heard over the campus, students' hearts will beat a little faster and there will be only one topic of conversation-Big Thursday.
