Ed Cottingham and Fred Black. well, representing the affirmative side, declared that since there are seven women to every five men the present marriage system is Inade. quate. They suggested that the way of Outer Mongolia be adopted where the women swap husbands at certain times. The negative team, composed of Roy Berry and Jack Cooper, coun tered with Ben Franklin's state ment about marriage being the natural state of man. They main tained that if the system suggested by the affirmative side was adopted that the children would have to he supported by the state. This would cause the 'children to be frustrated and would increase juvenile delinquency.
