}r ODK, AKG To Tap Members Chi Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa will hold its semi-annual tapping. ceremony along with Alpha Kappa Gamma at the October as sembly, President Edward M. Royall has announced. Candidates for ODK must meet the following requirements: (1) show outstanding character, (2) have at least junior standing, (3) have a C-plus average, and (4) as a senior (93 credit hours or above) have accumulated at least 100 points as set forth in the point system for Chi Circle; or as a junior (60 through 92 credit hours) have -accumulated at least 75 points as set forth in the point system for Chi Circle, which is printed in full below. All male students, including transfers, who believe they meet the necessary qualifications, are re quested to submit their application for membership to ODK, Box 8865 CAmpus, by Wednesday, October 10, 1951. In addition to the points listed below, Chi Circle may, at its own discretion, award additional points for work of exceptional distinction in any of the seven divisions of extra-curricular activities, whether done on the Carolina campus or at another institution of higher learn ing; however, a candidate must have at least one year's resident work at the university. Smith. Lt. Ernest Wil- p liam Broadbent, Jr., will serve as n instructor in naval ordnance and A gunnery and Lt. E. L. Hubbard will serve as . instructor in naval engineering. A native of Newport, R. I., Lt. s Broadbent received the bachelor of 8 arts degree from the University r of Washington. During World War i II he was assigned to the USS Grimes and had duty at Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Japan. He served aboard the USS Leyte in Korea < prior to and during the Hungnam . evacuation. He wears the Asiatic occupation and Korean service rib bons. Lt. Hubbard, a native of Flat Lick, Ky., is a gradbate of Union college. He served in World War II aboard escort carriers, heavy and light cruisers and destroyers and his last station was Korea.
