Carolina was well represented at the Clemson Homecom ing festivities this past weekend-Gene Krupa being one of the big attractions. PiKA's seens there were BILL STAN LEY with REGINA OWENS, ADPi pledge; "RED" RAS BERRY with CAROLINE THOMAS, Limestone graduate. QUAY WILLIFORD, JOE HUDGINS, JIM DALTON and DICKIE LEAPTROTT weren't left out by any means on this excursion. VIRGIL MARTIN, PiKA, went the opposite direction toward Winthrop for the weekend. Other representatives to the Clemson Homecoming were FANNY FOWLER, ChiO alum; JEAN LANEY, and PAT MATHESON, ChiO's. LEWELYN FIELDS is still talking about the wonderful Clemson House. Lew is engaged to BOBBY HART of Clemson. Wednesday, November 1, the Law Federation sponsored a dance from 9:00 to 1:00 at the Jefferson Hotel. Attending the dance were the law students, their wi'ves and dates and members of the faculty and their wives. The evening was ended by a square dance. Phi Sigma Kappa recently had a party at the Wade Hampton Hotel with Tommy Thornley and his band furnish ing the music. Members of Pi Beta Phi and their dates enjoyed a hay ride and a square dance at Gibson's Pond Saturday night. New pledges and active members of Pi Phi had breakfast together at the Columbia Hotel Sunday morning after which they attended Shandon Presbyterian Church. Pledges of Pi Phi entertained pledges of other sororities on Wednesday, October 25. Even more Carolinians at Clemson last weekend were Tri elts LOUISE CANTEY and NANCY McKENNON. BOB POSTON wvas recently initiated into the active ranks of Pi Kappa Alpha. Speaking of parties, the PiKA rush party at the Maxey Gregg Woman's Club was said to be a big success. Just heard that BERT EDENS, ChiO alum, was pinned by HOWARD HOUSE, Sigma Nu alum, last Sunday night. If anyone has seen SYBIL PATRICK, Pi Phi, and JULIAN BOLAND around, you'll know that they are busy making wedding plans for this coming December 22. Kappa Sigs gave their rush party last Friday night at the Maxcy Gregg Woman's Club. With all that fine food and dancing, who could help but have a good time! Ardent school supporters carried their radios along and kept the group posted on the scores of the George Washington game. First Lt. CHARLIE McDADE of the Army Air Force, a Kappa Sig and former student at U. S. C., was back on leave last weekend. Phi Kappa Sig's honored their new pledges with a dinner at the Green Derby Thursday night after pledging. Many Phi Kap alumni were on hand to meet the new pledges. OLGA EDWARDS, Zeta Tau Alpha, and BETSY KNOWLTON, Tri Delt, were gallivanting all over the coun try, namely Chicago, having big times at the Press Con vention. Sigma Nu's must believe in partying! Last Thursday night, Sigma Nu's and their dates enjoyed a party at Mammy's Shanty to welcome the new pledges. After the Marquette game Friday night they partied again at the Shanty. On Saturday night they left again, this time for the Hollywood Club. From all reports it was a fine party and enjoyed by all. After the formal initiation of the new pledges Thursday night, Sigma Nui's and the alumni gave a banquet in honor of the pledges. Saturday afternoon there was a football game between the actives and pledges. Yes, you guessed it-the pledges won! Delta Zeta's had a party No vember 4 at LYNN GREGORY'S home.
