It was natural for Mrs. Pei to become a housemother. loved having children around, pecially girls. And she has alv disciplined her charges, too. She laughs over the time daughter, Martha, was warned ' if she didn't come in at 11 p. she would not be allowed to go with that particular young i again. Martha came in on the dol eleven, although her watch stopped. How? Her escort had an alarm clock in the glove c partment, of coursel "The best thing about bein housemother is what you le from the girls," Mrs. Pender s "It's like mothering a big cr of daughters." There are surpri disappointments, and heartac but there are chuckle-provoking cidients, too - and some ti heart-warming occurrences. The good things make the ones worth while.
