Last spring the PiKA's wrote the Foster Parents Plan for War Chil dren, Inc., in New York City and I received nine year old Anthonia i E. Vantol to help care for. Anthonia, called "Toni" by the fraternity at her own request, has a sister and a twin brother and sister. Her father died in a Ger man concentration camp; her mother is still living. Smith, 'resident, has announced that Dr. C Vilson Gee, director of the In- S titute for Research in Social c< cience at the University of Vir- c inia, represented the university s< t the inauguration of Colgate W. )arden as president of the Vir inia university. Darden, a former governor of irginia and congressional repre entative from that state, was in talled on October 1. Doctor Gee attended the Univer ity of South Carolina in 1910, and btained his M.A. degree here that rear. Born at Union, S. C., he re :eived his B.S. from Clemson and is Ph.D. from the University of california. Doctor Gee also holds honorary egrees from Clemson and the University of Alabama, and has attended the University of Chi -ago and the University of Wis consin. He is also chairman of the School of Rural Economics at the University of Virginia.
