'owever, our editorial policy is more or less nonexistent a't the moment. and will grow as the need arises. For that matter, we need no Gallup Poll to prove to us that nine out. of ten students don't bother to read editorials anyway. But, for those who eare, the nucleus of our policy is as follows: Definitely, we will not, apologize for our wartime Gaimecock, altlioiih its feathers mliay droop from time to time, due to drastic short ages of all essentials, mtainly sufficient staff and copy. Constructive criticism will be most welcome, though-in moderation ! We will as usual do everything in our power towards the-making of a greater Carolina, and will, also as usual, keep plugging wishfully for a more efficient board of publications and other pet projects. - We'll continue, we hope. to put out an i:sue every other Friday. The shrinkage from eight to six pages is due to the discontinuance of the V-5 page, as perhaps you noticed. Again we beg of you. please oh please write Letters to the Editor. liemiier. In this connection we c"an't help wondering just what happenel to those big plans for the revival of the Social Cabinet. At the end -of the last semester there was m1ch talk of :a new cab)inet that would s)on.or out door dances and simnilar entertaiunments dulring the sum1nmier. but. nothing seems to lave 1beeln donle ab)out it. TI'his certiniuly seels the ideal timle for suL a IIove to be made. Of colurse. other organizt tions. such as the Y. will no d1oult till much of the Ieed if tlie Cabinet is not formed. 1lowever. all sulrviving enuu)s groups liav-e their hands more than full for the semester, what with the well-known manpower shortage: and a Social Cabinet whose main p urpose would be the sponsoring of dances and such would not only fill a definite need but take some of the pres sure off of these hardlpressed organizations. Of cotrse, there mlay be a good reason for the, delay in reorganizing the Social Cabinet, but if the only reason is the usual campus procrastination. we suggest that those con cerned get on the ball as the need for a Cabinet or imilar group is quite et ident.
