GME C SPORTS SQUINTS By WALLY DINSMOOR and CHUCK THOMPSON Since this is the last issue of the Gamecock for this semester I would like to take the opportunity to wish the new sports editor-Wally l)insmoor-all the luck in the world. First on the docket. in this issue is the annual Carolina-Clem son classic to he held at the stadium on Thursday. For the first time in seven years Carolina has been picked as favorite to winl. It is the opinion of your aut.hor that the (lenisoli Tigers will be subdued by the fightllg Gainecocks. If this happenls it will put 111d keep Carolina at the head of the list of foot fall teams in the Southern Conference. Skimp Ilarri.on, right end, and Brick Bradford, all-around 11tility b.ck and extra-point kicker, received painful bruises in the game with P. C. but are rounding into shape rapidly. Jack .Jones. who was injured in a previous encounter, will see action against Clemson. In the P. C. game Irving Williams, a gentleman heretofore unknown to Carolina backfield. picked up the ball, made two beautiful ruis ami two pass, and that was all for Presby terian. Ilere is at fellow who is to be watched in the game with the Tigers. Carolina's line appears to be all set and coaches have hopes of working a really effective backfield combination in the near future. I)ue to the injuries and transfers, coaches have been con stantly shifting their backfiel men and have finally chosen DetMillan, Contore, Wagnon, Williams, as their men. * The Duke Sez: Our average, .9.'2-17 right, 1 wrong.
