After a very heated de hate, the Clariosophians gain:ed the deccision. David 'r. Cottingham and \'ally 1)insmoor. represented the Clarios and were opposed by Arthir \\'ild er, of the university law school, and .lMaurice Bra lley. F.phradian mem hers. l)insmoor and Cottinghan up held the affirmative side of the query, "Resolved: that a world super government should be estab li,hcd as a result of the coming peace treaty.'' The opening speaker. Cottingham, rxpres,ed a ,nced for a change fron the past patterns for peace and sh(med that the desired form of morld organization was a federation of the nations. lie also pointed out that the propo!cd federation was the next step in the evolution of governmnent. \Wilder. the. First negative speaker h:a-t-d all of his argumrtents on peo,ple's inability to cooperate with each other. lie discussed the vari ous customrs, languages and re ligions which would he the main obstacles in the path of a success s u-fl fe d e r a tio n . Bralley contended that the fed eration of nations of the world was impractical since the expense of maintaining the institutions would he so great. lie also pointed out that the representation on the ex crutive branch as advocated by the affirmtati:e would enable one man to gain control of the government. Miss Bull was selected to appear on the cover of the coed bulletin by a com mittee consisting of several students and faculty men-bers, who -xamined quolifi cations of dozens of coeds on the campus before making their selection. The committee considered such qualifications as beauty, intellect, talent, character, and personolity in making its choice. Ketchen To Be Heard Sunday Y Leaders Will Talk At Vespers Sunday Evening Vespers, ac cording to Co-chairman Ann Hudson and Dave Freeman, has been returned to the University Chapel. The programs for the past two months have been held on the main campus at the base of the Maxcy monument. The program this week, deviating from the usual custom of stu dent-presented vespers, will be a talk by Bill Ketchin. associ ate Christian association secre tary for the New England States. Ketchin will be on the campus for the purpose of at tending the conference of Col lege officials being held Satur day and Sunday in Flinn Hall. In order to provide time for the Sunday Vespers this week the time is being pushed up ten minutes. The program will be gin at seven-twenty. mittee are as follows: Beth Laney.
