Books Graded By College Prof Austin, Texas-(ACP)-A new wrinkle in literature evaluation grading books by warfare's stan dards-has been unc--vered here by Donald Coney, University of Texas librarian. The National Library of Edin burgh, Scotland, according to Mr. Coney, now rates its books and manuscripts "A", "B", and "C", with an eye to preserving its most valuable material in times of war. "A" books are to be protected against air raids 'at any cost", "B" books, if possible. "C" books con stitute the others, Mr. Coney said. "We've been trying to collect only "A" books here," the librarian of the University's 565,000 vlume c:l lection commented, "but it appears that the Scots have devised a novel use for "C" material. Scholarship Offered Pi Lambda Theta, national associ ation for women in Education, re cently announced three awards for significant research studies in Edu cation on any subject in keeping with its national study program. During the week of religious em phasis at Carolina, Mr. Sollmann and Roswell Baines, New York City, will lead the daily seminar on "Chris tian'ity Versus Communism, Fascism, and Nazism." This forum will be of special interest to those students who are keeping up with current events. Mr. Sollmann, as a result of his past experiences with totalitarianism, will be able to give much information that in not generally known about the dictatorships. Girl's Physical Program Expanded The girl's physical education pro gram this year will feature swim ming, badminton, archery, and the fundamental skills connected with each. Basketball and volleyball will be added Dec. 1, when winter sports begin to get in full swing.
