Paree" Only Pupils Years Old Wil A French cinema (movie) w rench by the French departine The title of the cinema (movie)4 "La Nudes de Paree" gives the.key to the subject matter-a simple story of the hardships endured by French Peasants before the French Revolution, continuing through the industrial revolution to reveal the changes in industrial methods in France. One central character, a simple rural maid, is the main char acter throughout the story, which Is told in simple French, and can be understood by anyone with good eyesight. (It is not a sound pro duction.) It was announced by the French department at the University that -Slug (Brought Over Matter)' . . . and set the yirn bold face ten point two column . . . "Jake Lingle, notorious Chicago crime reporter, who was believed to be murdered seven years by cer tain unknown members of the Chi cago underworld was discovered to day by the Chicago Bugle to be very much alive. "Lingle, alias "Slug" DePass is now iean of the school of Journalism at the Univer sity of South Carolina. Owen O'Malley, star reporter of the Bugle, uncovered this sensational story today while reading a copy of the South Carolina student pub lication, The Gamecock. In this paper was a photograph of DePass which O'Malley quickly identified as the supposed late Jake Lingle. Lingle, alias DePass, in his hey day as a Chicago newspaper re porter knew more about the Windy City's underworld than even Al Ca pone. At the time of his death, it was believed he was "taken for a ride" because he knew too much. "Contacted in Columbia, S. C. De Pass admitted his real identity. In a copyrighted statement to tht Bugle, DePass said: "It is true. I am Jake Lingle. That day when they tried to bump me off I was wearing a bullet proof vest. But I made believe they got me. Then I. escapel without telling anyone . . . I went South and found a job at the University of South Carolina as dean of the school of journalism." O'Malley paused, then said: "0. K. Andy, you can put thirty on the story, and don't forget the bold face type." Hanging up the receiver, O'Mal ley laughed softly to himself, very much pleased with his work. His face shiie likc a new nicke!. But suddenly the telephone rang and shattered his bfissini stupor. It was Walker, the city editor. "Hello, O'Malley? . . . Listen, you dumb cluck . . . What', may I ask, is a school of Journalism?" Enigma suspended itself above and behind O'Malley and lurked there like a London fog. --1. s.
