Sate BY ZURY BE: It would seem that a great social wrong has been committed. Not that social wrongs mean anything much to this column, but we do hate to get people all mixed up. And if anybody happened to read Satellites last issue (you know how you'll read most any thing to see if your name appears), he might turn up at the German with an S.A.E. bid, or worse still inform a Ger man member that the S. A. E..'s are sure putting on one swell shin dig. Contrary to last week's announce nent, the German will be danced this evening and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon's on Friday of next week. Cabaret First though, there's that banquet which the Kappa Sig's pulled last eve in the Columbia Hotel's Blue Room, combining dining and dancing in a grand manner. Werber Bryan went in for plain and fancy toast-mastering, with Jack Quattlebaum speaking a small size speech too-that inevitable address of welcome, which was, for all of that, very nicely done. Another Feed While the K. Sig's were dining at the Columbia, the Pi Kappa Phi's were doing the same in the ball room of the Jefferson. They, too, were celebrating their founder's day, sans benefit of dates, but with much speech making. Pi Kappa Phi is, as far as we know, the only social fraternity founded in South Cafolina to become a national affair. It was born long about 1904 in Charleston at the College. Feed Number Three Not to be outdone, the Alpha Tau's are putting on an elaborate warmer upper before the German with a for mal feed at one of the cities leading hotels, (they didn't know which when they told us about it). Darn near the whole chapter, in cidently, journeyed to Charleston over the week-end to attend a province con clave. Fascist As for the German, it is to be, ac cording io the State, "A large and in teresting pre-holiday social event at the University of South Carolina." Which is, after all, enough said. They'll dance neath red and green fringes, and dangling balloons (which unless the af fair is fairly stiff, will dangle only until intermission when gals get to egging Galahad's to procure a balloon or so to have a souvenir.) For information concerning sponsors and the like see the straight write up. Merry, Merry, Merry Tlhree Yuletide parties have already beeni announced by sororities. The Delters to be pulled .on Monday, the P'i Phi's on Saturday, and the Pi's Thursday or Friday. At the Tri-Delt gathering, ilich is known as a Pine Party and has some thing to do with a pine tree being strictly a Delter tree, they give eaci other foolish presents, sing Chiristmas songs, we guess, and serve refresh mients. At the Pi Beta Phi gathering, which is merely known as a Christmas party they give each other foolish presents sing Christmas songs, we guess, and serve refreshments. At the Alpha Delta Pi gathering which is also merely known asa Christmnas party, they give the house presents, sing Christmas songs, and serve refreshments, we hope. We venture to add that they'll all tell each other Merry Christmas. Adventure Our wandering boy, one Emmel Smith, famous in these parts as shagger of no small repute, has re turnedl once more to the fireside (oi radliator if you will be technical) of . this little campus after meandering over Cuba and points south. Many tales, mostly tall, will the young adl venturer tell. But none will surpas: the post card he sent Hasell Hopkins which pictures a huge Cuban dwelling~ that was probably one room short o being a castle.
