239 Now On Roll Of Honor Seven New Signers" One-Seventh Of University Stu dent Body Represented By List One student out of every seven on the campus has now signed the "Roll of Honor'", and has sworn to uphold the honor of the school and to report all unfair practices seen in classes and t examinations. Interesting Results Follow Investigation Interesting resultis have followed the i study made by I)r. \Villiam S. I.earnied of the Carnegie Foundation, of comptara tive stores of information held by high school seniors and college students. lie studied 41) colleges in Pennsylvania anl " a large group of high schools. giving four-hour comprehensive tests to students. lie found that: Some c(Pllege freshmen knew more than probably any college Ieacher they might have. Other freshmen had so little kinowledge that it was a "practical in possibility" they would learn tuch in college. No backgroundi. We are sked to enforce a class room honor ystem when no steps are being taken o check the corruption existing in stu lent conducted activities. This writer cannot but be particular y critical of the faculty for its con tlete failure to take any action in re ard to this matter. It is of course pparant that the faculty cannot rem dy certain evils but it is equally clear hat the faculty can (10 nuch to remedy he situation by dcmanding financial esponsibility from student treasurers. l'he situation has been called to the at ention of the faculty repeatedly but tothing has ever been done by them to >rovide a remedy. The evils that exist could be cure(d y the students themselves and the vriter in no way seeks to exonerate lie students for their failure to do so. 3ut the writer does point out that the aculty. while it has streniuously le nanded that the students enforce sonic ort of a class rootm honor system they ailed to cooperate with those students vho have reqluested a clean-up of ex racurricular activity.
