Now, it's your move! sn Basket Drill Over Soon r After several weeks of irregular practice, the spring training season in basketball will reach its conclusion next week according to Coach (Rock) Norman. The team is reported to have shown steady improvement, and with the few regulars back from this year's squad coupled with new aspirants, the team should be whipped into good shape when the season opens next year. Twenty men have turned out for the spring practices and an even larger squad is expected when the other athletic seasons end. Others Asked To Report Before Training Season Ends Under the joint tutorship of Frankie DcMars and Rex Williams an unofficial spring training session in boxing is being carried on three times a week in the University gym. It has been in process for some weeks, some of the boys continuing their training begun during intramural boxing. Including Rex Williams, the boys out for this training are James Ackerman, John Haskell, Martin, W. W. Hunter, Dave Galloway, McCormick, and Joe Claffy. According to Frankie DeMars there are several boys who are " not out that should be. He is wondering where they are and would like to see them out again. Their names are Dan McCloud and Mackic Mills. " 1 hese boys have shown much improvement in the last few weeks," stated Coach DeMars. He also said that more men are desired to come out; and said that there is but one qualification necessary to be among this group; apparent interest and the desire to work in harmony with the coach and the rest of the class. Football Players Meet Thursday All football candidates are requested by coach "Dutch" Stamman to meet in Davis college next Thursday night at 7 o'clock. This is to be quite an important meeting and Coach Stamman urges every football player on the campus to be present. No Holds Barred In Battle-Royal . t A new precedent will be set at the University of South Carolina today at 1 3:00 P. M. when the Freshman and Sophomore classes hold their annual Hag Rush. This is the first of these events ever to be held at the Univeri sity and it is hoped that it will be an s annual affair. It is being held under i the auspices of the Block C Club of : the University and Juniors and Seniors of the Block C Club will act as referees of the match. > The event will take place at 3:00 P. M. on Melton Field, immediately bei fore the presentation of the pictures of : the campus. It is one of the outstandr ing events of High School Day and the public is cordially invited to attend* . there will be 110 admission charge. The event has been organized under the direction of Coach Pauly. All Sophomores will meet at the : north end of Melton field and all ' Freshmen at the South end of the field ' at 2:30 p- M- to receive identification . markings.
