FINAL PLANS MADE FOR BEAUXART BALL Anti-Bellum Motif Used ' Annual Dance One of Outstanding Social Events of -Year Final plans for the dance given by the Beaux Arts Club ami election of new members were the main points of the meeting held Wednesday night at the home of Sally Bailey. An ante-bellum motif has already been planned by the club for their annual dance, which will be held around the first of March. The location for the dance has not yet been definitely decided, but a pleasant surprise is predicted for everyone if their plans work out. There are thirty members in this club?fifteen girls and fifteen boys. The annual dance is one of the outstanding social events of the year at Carolina. ?u. e. c.? D'Horvath to Give Violin Recital 'Madame Felice Dellorvatli, head of the violin department of the University, will give a recital before the Musical Arts Club of Charleston, February 25. Her program will consist of the following numbers: "Arioso," by Bach; "Meditation," by Massenet; "Nocturne," opus 19, No. 2, by Chopin; "Ballade et Polonaise," by Vieux Temps; "Chanson Meditation," by Cottenet; "Hymn to the Sun," by Rimsky-KorsakofT; "The Swan," by Saint-Saens; and "Serenade," by Toseli. Mrs. Maurice Matteson will accompany Madame Dellorvatli at the piano. ?u. s. o.? Humphries to Give Program Over WIS William Humphries will give * half-hour program of violin music over WIS Tuesday night, playing Handel's "F Major Sonata," together with several shorter compositions. Mr. Humphries is a senior at the University, and is a pupil of Madame DeHorath's. ?u. c. c.? CHANGES IN FLINN HALL WILL SOON BE FINISHED The redecoration of Flinn Hall, with the exception of the front porch, is completed. The pool room has been made into a University memorial room and pictures of University players, cups and trophies, now in the Student Activities office, will bo placed here shortly. u. u. c. BUFFET SUPPER GIVEN TO JOINT Y COUNCILS A buffet supper was given for the V. W. C. A. and Y. M. C. A. council by Lib Lindsay Thursday night at her home. Mrs. Ii. G. It is rumored that there are only 38 new students. Several of these will remain non-fraternity. That leaves eight sororities and sixteen fraternities to scramble for about 25 pupils. Each man for himself and the Lord for all of us. K. A. PARTY Kappa Alpha will have a party at the fraternity house Saturday night. Ajox's orchestra will furnish the music. PHI SIGMA KAPPA DANCE Phi Sigma Kappa had a dance Thursday night at 9 p.m. at the frat house. About 00 guests came. PHI KAPPA SIGMA Dances were given by Phi Kappa Sigma for their rushees on Wednesday and Friday nights. SIGMA KAPPA PARTY Sigma Kappa had a party at Bennie Gray Lewis' house Monday night from 8:30 until 10:30. Ice cream, cakes and mints were served. SIGMA NU Sigma Nu had a smoker Wednesday night at the fraternity house. They are giving a dance tonight. SIGMA KAPPA A party was given Wednesday afternoon at Agnes Hughes' cabin. A dance will be given tonight at Lib Bird's house. Will Revive Old Fraternity At Flinn Hall Friday Membership Consists of Those Interested in Religious Work Approximately 20 students who anticipate entering professional Christain work met at Flinn Hall Friday night at 8 and re-organized the Delta Chi Alpha fraternity. The fraternity was originally organized under the name of the Thornwall Club in 1920. Later, in 1927, it was organized under the present name, and in 1929 it became a national fraternity, with chapters in many other universities of the nation. Two years ago all the active members at Carolina graduated at the same time, thus lapsing the chapter. Ellison Jenkins, then a member, has returned, however, and organized the fraternity last night. Those eligible for membership are students who in later life intend entering the ministry, Y. M. C. A. religious education work and hoy scout work. ?u. 8. c. JUNIOR CLASS MEETS TUESDAY IN CHAPEL The Junior Class will hold its first meeting of this semester Tuesday after chapel.
