Baseb A. D. CockBy Elmor All-Southern Conference? The all-southern conference basket ball team has been chosen. (Or what did they do to it ?) Several teams were given berths on this squad. South Carolina almost placed a couple men on the second team. Wonderful! , However S. C. enthusiasts were not the most embarrassed persons concerned. ' Officials realized that they had to do something so they just issued the statement that those selections were for the 1 tournament alone and not for the whole ; season. We admit that this announce- ' ment helped to save their faces somewhat. Yes, changing the name to alltournament helped a little. But still we offer our heart-felt raspberries to the 1 selectors. 1 We suggest that the All-American football teams be composed of players ( who get into the Rose Bowl game and * star there. No true American can sec any fairness in any other system. ' > Some Strutting Gamecocks 1 Compliments to Allen Rollins and t Doug Sturkie, two old Gamecock sport t writers.
