JACKSON HEADS WOMEN'S K. S. K. NEW MEMBERS VOTED IN ?? : Plans Made For Co-ed Cheering Section; Freshmen Urged To Wear Berets The election of officers for the co-ed K. S. K. came to a deadlock Tuesday afternoon when Louisa laber and Darice Jackson were nominated for President. The vote was eleyen and eleven and since the tie could not be broken the election of officers was postponed until Thursday. On Thursday the election went off without a "hitch" when Darice Jackson was unanimously elected president. Louisa Taber was elected vice-president, Sarah Roach, secretary, and Rowena Jones, treasurer. Cheerleaders and ushers will be appointed by the president. The club discussed plans for a cheering section at the football games and especially plans for the Clemson-Carolina game on October 23. War w>as declared on any freshman who appeared on the campUs between the hours of 9 and 2 without her beret. The new berets secured by the club for the freshmen this year are different from those formerly used. The Athletic Council has drawn up ; new constitution and will submit it t< be voted on at that time. Also, the clas managers for the hockey season will l> elected. The association meets only threi times a year; at the beginning of th hockey season, the beginning of the mid winter or basketball season, and the tracl and tennis seasons in the spring. Ever; co-ed who is taking physical educatioi automatically becomes a member of thi body. A. banquet for all co-e freshmen was given Wednesday evening October 8, in the cafeteria of the Wc men's Building. About seventy-five guesl were seated in the cafeteria which wa decorated in a blue and white moti with flowers. After the Y. W. C. *A. son> Gladys Hamilton, acting as toastmistres: made an address of welcome which wa responded to on behalf of the freshme by Elizabeth Creighton. Gladys Hamilton, president of the "V W. C. A., introduced the advisory boar and the cabinet of this organization. Tw humorous readings were given by Kati Bogen. Faith Brewer recited an origin* poem "Detours to Paradise," after whici the Alma Mater was sung. The invoca tion was by Dr. Hugh R. .
