The game got away to a brisk start but in late stages developed into a farce. In the eighth inning Furman Fcored six runs and in this frame Laney went to the bat for the fifth time to garner his fifth consecutive hit. Laney was by far the outstanding figure on the field and drew applause from the stand each time he walked to the plate. The first inning was scoreless but in the second Furman scored three tine; on two home runs. Carolina drew blood in the next but from that time steadily lost ground. Two Carolina pitchers were driven from the mound within the first four innings and the third, Riggins, was hit freely. Huff went the nine rounds for Furman and 'allowed 12 hits, many being scattered. ng Styles Y FIVE" 5 Sport-For Dress UM SHOE CO. Colunbia. S. C.
