Y"N FIANCE CAMPAIGN STARTED ON CAMPUS THIRTY-THREE GIVE $211.00 Prof. Bradley Makes Talk at ComnAttee Meet;ny Wednesday Night. At Finance committee meeting Wed nesday Night 33 men on the committee to canvass the student body pledged $211.00 to start off the campaign. The Y. M. C. A. is now on a campaign to riise $1,000.00 to complete a budget for $29,000..00 for the work of the Y. M. C. A. for this coming year. Prof. Bradley made a stirring talk to the men on the committee commend ing the work of the "Y" here on the campus and comparing it to the work that was at Carolina during his college days. Then Mr. Bell called for pledges and they began to come in fast. The first two pledges were for $25.00 and ranked on down from that to $3.00. The men on the committee were enthusias tic and said that they did not antici uate any trouble in getting the funds raised. Each man on the committee was asked to see only 10 men. The pledges are to be turned in tonight. Mr. C. B. Williams is the head of the cam paign. Any man missed can make out a check to the University Y. M. C. A. and turn it over to Mr. .Williams. U.S.C. THE "Y" POLICY FOR THE COMING YEAR -At the meeting called of the "Y" Council before school started this year, the policy of the Y. M. C. A. was out lined. This new policy is outlined as follows, 100 per cent membership in Churches. 100 per cent of the men on the campus in a Bible Class and 100 per cent of the men enrolled as "Y" mem bers. With increased force the "Y" will be able to be of more service to the men on the campus than ever before. A new Ping Pong table has been added in Flinn Hall, a room set aside on the second floor where committees and clubs may hold meetings without being disturbed, and some new paper binders added. Everything is being lone to improve the service until the time when a new building can be secured. However, the big thing about the "Y" this year is that the "Y" force wants to be of more individual help to the individual student. The secretary hopes to meet every man on the campus and to know him personally. He wants to be able to help him with his problems whatever they may be.- The meetings will be along the line of setting a stand ard of life and will be addressed by the best men that can be secured. On the wvhole it seems that the campus can look forwvard to a better spirit from the "Y", this year than ever before. Thru the co-op)eration of all the campus it is hoped that a high morale be set and maintained throughout the entire year in matters religious, social, spiri tual, intellectual and athletical. U.s.c.
