The query for the Geor(-ia Tennessee-Carolina tiiangular debate, as ano inced by the De bating Council, is as 'follows:' "Resolvd, That the United States should extend the policy of subsidizing its merchant ma rine engaged in foreign trade." The reason the word "extend" is used instead of "adopt" is be cause the United States at pres ent grants postal subsidies to its ship lines. This query is the first choice of all three universi ties. The date of the debate has not been decided upon yet, but will probably be May 6. Three-C. Debate. Nothing has been definitly decided as yet about the Clem son-Citadel-Carolina debate, al tho Secretary Merrimon of the Debating Council has made every effort to come to an agree ment. The Citadel is very anx ious to enter, but Clemson seems rather lukewarm in her enthu siasm, 'The matter will be def initely decided in a few days, and the decision and particulars will be publisht in THE GAMECOCK.
