TO WIN IS HIGH HONOR Templeton and Bates Are Mas ters of the Occasion. The annual Roddey debate will be held - in the University chapel Friday night at 8:15 oclock. This is one of the big gest contests of the year and a large crowd is expected. To win this contest is to become distinguisht. A large number of men have enterd the prelim inaries and the contest in the chapel promises to be up to the usual standard which is high. J. D. Griffith, Clariosophic was last year's winner. The query for Friday night's cottest is, "Resolved, That the administration's national de fense program is justified by re cent international develop ments." The Cla iosophic and Euphradian societies will each be represented by one speaker on each side of the query, mak ing four speakers in all. The officers, as has been pre viously announst, are L. P. Templeton, Clariosophic, presid ing, officer, and Jefferson B. Bates, chief marshall. Washington Post. Stanley T. Milliken, in picking an All-South Atlantic eleven for the Washington Post, says of Carolina's stellar Darlingtonian: "Hill, of South Carolina, is a cracking good end, but this school is not generally considerd to be in the South Atlantic sec tion, otherwise this player would be selected over Seifert," on the Post's all-star team. Committee Works. A committee of the Clariosoph ic Society has been at work re cently revising the constitution and bringing it up to date. The recoommendations of the commit tee were submitted to the society at its last meeting Saturday evening at 7:30. The com1mittee is as follows: Hugh 0. Hanna, chairman, Orin F. Crow, S. N. Lott, L. They have felt need of such a society for so time, but this year, for the f time, the number of co-ed: large enuf to promise any suc to such an organization. The officers for the first t are: Miss Eva Seawright, py dent; Miss Margaret Bran burg, vice-president; Miss Fr Watson, secretary and treasu and Miss Jessie Chapman, pai mentarian and critic. RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED' Student-body Expresses its Wish for "Red's" Reelection. The contract of Dr. N. Bruce Edgerton as football coach of the University of South Carolina has expird. Dr. Edgerton came to Carolina in the fall of 1912 and made for himself a proud record that year. It will be rememberd that the Edger ton men of that year swampt Clemson 23 to 7. At the close of the 1912 season Dr. Edgerton signd a three year contract with the Garnet and Black pig skin officers. That the Univer sity's football team has been successful under Coach Edgerton is a matter of record, and Caro lina men hope that the Titian haird pigskin prince will contin ue as master of ceremonies on Davis Field. The following resolutions were adopted recently by the Student body: Whereas, The contract of Dr. N. B. Edgerton as coach of the University of South Carolina has expird; and a coach is soon to be elected to fill the vacancy, and Whereas, Dr. Edgerton has coacht at the University for the past four years and his associa tion with football and Student body being most pleasant and in every particular that of a gen tleman of the highest type; and Whereas, Dr. Edgerton has a reputation of being one of the best coaches in the South, Be it resolvd by the Student body, That the Advisory Board of the University of South Caro lina be petitiond to relect Dr. Edgerton to the position that he has filld with such a high de gree of efficiency.
