WEEKs (Euph.) ....Orangeburg S. M. HU1NTLEY (Y. M. C. A.) Cheraw Columbia, S. C., Oct. 26, 1915. Winthrop, we are wholly thine! Carolina-A. & M., 19-10. Car olina-Clemson, we should figure! With Winthrop here we can appreciate the term "Fair Week. " If that hunch expects victory, we would call them blind Tigers. Peaches is our favorite fruit. We are going to like that aggre gation at the game Friday. Silence sometimes gives dis- t content. A fellow thinks mighty highly of his friends to write to them from Pike's Peak. The objection to automobiling is that one must re-tire so early. FAIR WEEK Fair week is always a gay time for the Carolina students. We have friends and relatives in town who have come, perhaps, to be with us. It is our duty to (10 everything fo them that we possibly can. Let's make their trip pleasant. Of course, no one wvill be rude to another purp)osely, but let us remember that w-homever we meet nmight be a relative or' friend to one of our best friends. So we should make it as pleasant as we can for all strangers in: the city. By this means we can' raise in the minds over the State the moral and social standards of the University. It may bring to ur midstsome of the best youtl >f the State. And we might remind the fac ilty that those who send us her( xpect us to show them somc Lttention. We cannot do thi; f special long assignments arc riven, or quizzes are held durinj he week. However, we havt lways found that a majority o he faculty are aware of thi, 'act and have shown their feel ng for humanity. "LOVE'S LABORS LOST" It has been an old, old practic< Lfter hard fought victories foi he Carolina student body to hok )arades, and serenade the wom m's colleges. Never before, so fa: s we know, has the Gamecoci !row failed to elicit a response Friday a note of appreciatior Lnd regret that they could no ;reet us came from the Chicori tudent body, and was heartil velcomed. . We do not know the reason fo he reponse unheard, therefore ve refrain from any comment 3ut we would like to explair hat the cheers were offered witl he highest respect to the insti ution, its students and faculty hat the action of the student; tame from a feeling of the friend iest relations; and without r hought of evoking the slightes )reach of the discipline of th< ol lege. We know from the letter re eivel that the students did no ollow the dictates of their owi learts and minds. Furthermore ve believe that they will havc he privilege in the future o velcoming the Carolina student, Lnd return their cheers.
