ALUMNI WILL BE Y. M. C. A. SPEAKERS Quartet Will be Special Fea ture of Program. Next Wednesday evening at, the regular meeting of the Y. M. C. A. Pat Murphy and Alan Johnstone Jr., old Carolina men and now practicing attorneys of the city, will speak. upon some subject, to be. an;unced, of vital interest to college men. Both these men know the condi tions on the campus and the things that new and old men alike will be glad to hear. The mem bers of the upper classes re member when these young at torneys were on the campus. A large part of the student body know them by their relations since they left the campus. A pleasing feature of the pro gram will be a rendition by a qurtet obtained especially for this nmeeting. The Carolinian. The first issue of The Carolin ian will make its appearance the 15th of this month. This is a campus monthly by which is judged the literary standards of the University students. An opportunity is offered them, not only of using their pens, but of learning the make up of a maga zine. Much can be looked for in the coming issue through the capa ble guidance of its editor-in chief, Hugh 0. Hanna. Mr. H. C. Brearley, exchange editor, will exchange compliments and criticisms with our sister maga zines. Mr. A. M. Jones will look after the business .'ide. Each society. elects two assistant editors. ). S. The n?anager says that if the sub seription price draws on the students' meal ticket, he should give up his ticket, for there will be plenty of meat in The Carolinia)n. R. E. Castles, of Hickory Grove, a junior at the University this year, has recently been ap l)ointedl by Prof. Tfaber to assist him in the Department of Geol ogy. Mr. Castles has shown ex ceeding ap)tness in this (depart ment since entering college. His dluty is to assist in the lab oratory.
