. . . LAW DEPARTMENT Claude R. Marshal, Editor The Law Association was called to order Thursday night by Pres. Merrimon. The first case on docket was State v. Williams. The State was represented by at torneys Wade and Love; defend ant by attorneys Burnett and =Thompson. The attorneys on both ,ides presented able arguments. ( Defendant was indicted for the Mnurder of Henry Thomas. A 9notion to direct a verdict for de "endant was sustained and the 9risoner was released. $ Prof. E.. Marion Rucker, pre c.iding judge, gave the attorneys c4 few valuable suggestions. 08 After the adjournment of Moot =ourt, the Law Association held a business meeting. The consti tution was read and some amend ments voted on. The Moot Court extends a cor dial invitation to students and strangers to attend its proceed ings. All law men are expected. The business manager has re ceived a check from John Hoy in payment of a year's subscrip tion to THE GAMECOCK. John is remembered on the campus as cheer leader when Carolina tied twenty-two kinks in the Tiger's tail. After getting his LL. B. de gree Mr. Hoy went back North and is now located in Trudeau, N. Y.
