Let's go to the picture show And pay our measly jit; Take-a seat on.the-back row And listen to the music in .the pit. Look at-the lady across.the aisle; Isn't she a stunning beaut Notice those dimples and that smile, Gee, she's a cunning cute! TO THE CLASS OF '15 To the-class of 1915 this issue of THE GAMECOCK is dedicated in appreciation of the support and ,work of its. members. The class has furnished four editors in-chief of the bird, besides as sistant editors and managers. It is with a feeling of sad ness, yet with - pride, that we see the seniors leave us. Were gret the fact that we must give them up; but we feel with a sense of satisfaction that they go out for a noble and useful purpose. They will now en list in the service for which they have been in training four years. It is to these men and their like that the State looks for great things. And we feel that in the hands of the classes of 1915 the Palm State will continue to stand for its inheritance of puri ty, its nobleness of ideals, and its loyal independence. CAROLINA THE GREAT Once a Carolinian, always a Carolinian! This Spirit has characterized Carolina students for more than a century. There is a feeling of love and respect for every thing on the campus. Hon. James Simons of Charles ton, who was a member of the class of '58, has never been in Columbia without visiting the campus. It is this kind of loy alty that builds up an institution. And we take pride in knowing that the alumni take such whole hearted interest in their alma mater. It is only by adding to the un der classes that we can turn out alumni. In the selfsame way ,an we produce a winning ath letic team or a literary genius. Graduates and students will travel over the entire State this summer. We feel that if every man will speak for Carolina every time he has an opportuni ty that he will induce high school graduates to come here next year. There are many reasons why young men will find Carolina a suitable place for training. In athletics, considering all fea tures of athletic events, the Uni versity probably offers the best advantages in the State. Every kind of sport receives attention. The University has distinct literary history. The two socie ties are the oldest in America without a break. They were established in 1806, and stand preeminent in historic value. Many great men have received training in these halls that led them into the path of fame. T tion"Ian we of'en ml. "bull-headednA -other fellow. don't ever -mIl true geniality or a tobacco.
