CAROLINA GAMECOCKS MADE TWO GREAT FIGHTS Won First Contest and Lost the Second. PENN. STATE COLLEGE HAS MIGHTY GOOD TEAM Both Battles Were Exciting to the Finish-The Box Scores Make Interesting Reading to the Lovers of the Game. Carolina defeated Penn. State on Wednesday and on lhurslay the Keystoners returned the compliment by downing the Gamecocks. The c score Wednesday was 1 I to 7; on vi Thursday 8 to 7. Both games were of the exciting . kind. The Garnet and Black squad c3 came strong in both contests, stir c4 prising to a great extent a number of the followers of the team. It is now getting to be known pretty gen erally that Carolina has one of the fastest if not the fastest college ag gregation of ball tossers in the South. 0. Moore played well in both contests, as did VonKolnitz, McMil lan and Owen. \V.
