CAMPUSGRAMS. Quite a number of students vent to their respective homes to enjoy the Easter "holidays." And all of them returned to their duties rather relue tantly. Those w%?ho went on the Glee Club trip enjoyed it very much. They were eleven in number, including Messrs. luic, Blake, Perkins, Ferguson. Mc Crady, Reeves, Layton, McGowan, Lumpkin. Seay and FitzSimons. A number of students have gone to Greenwood to be present at the State Oratorical contest, and the attendant features. Among these were, two games with Davidson, and a dance, etc. Mr. Ashton \Villiams was Caro lina's representative at the contest. Dr. \Veatherford is oii the caipis as the guest of the students. Ile will be here until May 1. A great deal of prolit and pleasure will be derived froiml his stay here. Dr.. Alitchell attended the meeting of Southern educators. held recently in Jacksonville. le returned still more infused with the idea of the value of a sound education. Today has been a holiday., and it did not come iunwelcomed. Nobody went to the class-rooms in spite of it. This annual holiday is occasioned by the I ligh School meet which is being held here today. Ily re:'son of it there are a lot of high school boys on the cam pus, and we are glad to have all of them with us. A great improvement has been made in front of the libl'ary on the road leading across the campus. It is now coMPact and hard, and has been slightly raised. \Vashington and I.ee broke even in the two gaimes with Pennsylvania State College, losing th'e first 7-1. and winning the second 3-.'2. Several games have been prevented 1) rin, among them being one with Swarth more and two with ILafayette College. The Law Association held its regu lar meeting on last Wednesday night, April ,19th, at which time the follow ing officers were elected to serve dur iig the third term: President, Jennings. Vice President, Shuler. Secretary and Treasurer, Page. Sheriff, Johnstone. Clerk of Court, Goggans. Law Editor, Black. After the election of officers a verv interesting criminal case was disposed of ; the following namedl mien serving: State: Capplemann, Goggans. De fense: Shuler. Hiudson. The association appreciated the fact that quite a number of academic stu dents were preseit, and it is the sin cere hope that many more will avail themselves of the opportunity of at tending our meetings in the future. Easter German Brilliant Affair. The H'aster german. held Tuesday night in the gymnasium, was a bril liant a Iffair. A\bout' thirty-five couples aid twenty or more stags were pres ent. \lany of the ladies vere from Columibia, but over a dozen were from other cities of the State. The grand march started at 10 oclock, ald from then until a little after 2 a. im.. the cotples swayed up anld dowin the floor. At 12 o'clock light refreshments were served. The floor w,vas good and the music, by Davis' Orchestra, excellent. The geriian figures were led by Mr. W. C. McGowan. of the senior class. ;eorgia broke even in their two games with the fast Trinity team. Trinitv won the first. 1-0, and Georgia the second, 7-3. The first game was a pitcher's duel between Thompson and (;antt. Georgia's twirler allowed three hits, walked two men, anid struck out fourteen. while Trinity's yielded two hits. walkedl no men, anod struck out eleven of the Georgia team. Clison defeated Newberry College in t wo fast gaies. the scores being ?-1 and 3-?, respectively.
